| Setting Realistic Expectations Nursing Home Education Video Program Surpasses 50,000 in Sales To All 50 States |
Setting Realistic Expectations, a video program to help educate families and responsible parties to have reasonable expectations regarding the level of care provided in nursing homes, has sold over 50 thousand copies to nursing homes located in all 50 states. The 16-minute presentation is to be shown during the admission process, then given to families of new and existing residents to share with other relatives and keep for future reference.
“We are very grateful that long-term care facilities from every state have embraced the concept of being open and honest with families,” states Chip Kessler, General Manager of Extended Care Products, Inc., producers and developers of Setting Realistic Expectations. “We hear time and time again from administrators, admissions/marketing coordinators, directors of nursing and social workers who use the video program how well it has worked in communicating better with families and responsible parties. Families also like the fact that the facility has taken the time to fully explain what services can and cannot be provided, and most importantly, why.”
Setting Realistic Expectations helps reduce the potential for future lawsuits against nursing homes by families who sometimes have unrealistic expectations about the level of care long-term care facilities can offer.
“Unfortunately, families sometimes believe that the nursing home provides care and services beyond what is humanly and financially possible,” says Kessler. “The video explains what the nursing home is capable and not capable of doing.”
