| Nursing Homes Magazine Features Setting Realistic Expectations video program as part of story on Risk Management |
Nursing Homes/Long Term Care Management, one the long-term care profession's leading publications cities the Setting Realistic Expectations video program as an excellent resource for family education.
In the feature story "Lawyers Have Gone Fishing" writer Ric Henry, President of LTC Alliance, a risk management company and a former nursing home administrator, explains that the Setting Realistic Expectations program is a valuable addition to any nursing home's effort to educate families. The article probes how attorneys have waged a major assualt on the nursing home industry, often winning large verdicts and settlements in the six and seven figure range. Mr. Henry reports how these attorneys have frequently used the fact that a loved one is in a nursing home as the basis to file a lawsuit, not even bothering to have a specific and documented reason for filing the lawsuit.
"We are happy to give long-term care facilities a weapon to use against these types of lawsuits," states, Chip Kessler, General Manager of Extended Care Products, Inc., developers and producers of Setting Realistic Expectations. "As they say, the truth is the best defense, and our video presents the honest facts about nursing home care- what can be provided and what can't. Now families can understand why a nursing facility is not always able to solve all of a resident's problems, because of a variety of reasons, as explained in the video."
Over 50,000 copies of Setting Realistic Expectations have been sold nationwide. Nursing facilities in all 50 states use it. For more information on Setting Realistic Expectations, or to obtain a copy of Mr. Henry's feature story, please call toll-free 1-800-807-4553. |
