| Leader in Nursing Home Family Education Adds Care Plan Video Program to List of Offerings |
Extended Care Products, Inc. continues to add programs designed to help work with families. On the heels of its Setting Realistic Expectations, and Setting Realistic Expectations for Assisted Living Communites, comes Care Plans: The Most Important Person.
"We are especially pleased to expand our line of family educational video programs with this presentation that addresses the Care Plan process," says Chip Kessler, Development Manager of the Johnson City, TN based company. "This 13-minute program further expands the nursing home's relationship with families and responsible parties. It truly tells them that staff wants to work with them and invites their participation in the care of their loved one."
Care Plans: The Most Important Person gently explains why it is a joy to remain active and involved in the life of a loved one in the nursing home, and encourages participation in the Care Plan and Care Plan reviews. The program is to be given to the family during that point in the admissions process when the subject of the resident's first Care Plan meeting is brought up. The family is asked to take the program home and watch it in anticipation of the initial Care Plan session.
"The program serves as the nursing home's introduction to the Care Plan process," explains Kessler, "and is the nursing home's invitation to become part of the Care Plan team."
